Melorheostosis is an uncommon bone dysplasia of unknown origin, characterized by a slowly progressing hyperostosis. It was first reported by Leri and Joanny in 1922, and approximately 300 cases have been reported in the literature. In the present article we described an unusual case of melorheostosis of both hands with associating generalized osteopenia. A discussion of the case and a brief review of the literature on the subject were presented.

Keywords : Bone dysplasia, sclerosis, melorheostosis.
