Hammer toe is a plantar flexion deformity of the proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint of the toe with compensatory hyperextension of the metatarsophalangeal (MTP) and distal interphalangeal (DIP) joints. Claw toe deformity consists of hyperflexion at the PIP and DIP joints with hyperextension at the MTP joint. Among all inflammatory diseases, both deformities generally occur in rheumatoid arthritis. We herein report the first case of hammer toe and claw toe deformities associated with dactylitis in a patient with reactive arthritis
