Current Rehabilitation in Traumatic Brain Injury
Traumatic brain injury like most other causes of death and disability, has been around since the beginning of time; although has only recently become a focus of clinical care and rehabilitation research. Despite high expectations for advanced knowledge and clear need for tested interventions, the field of traumatic brain injury is relatively early in its development. The purpose of this article is to review the epidemiology, pathophysiology, assessment methods, recent rehabilitation strategies of traumatic brain injury, complications and medical problems during rehabilitation and their management, and prognostic factors, and to direct the researchers’ interest to this specific condition.
