Ankilozan Spondilit'e Serum İmmun Globulin A Düzeyleri ve Hastalık Aktivitesi ile İlişkisi

Disease activation in Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) can be diagnosed with clinical and leboratory measurements. The presence of Klebsiella Pneumonia in the feces of these patients and the increase in serum immunoglobulin A (IgA) made the researchers think that these factors might be playing a role in the etiopathogenesis of this disease. Studies have been performed investigating the correlation between the disease activity and IgA levels based on the speculation that IgA might be increasing during the active phase. The aim of this tudy was to measure IgA in patients with AS and to determine its correlation with clinical disease activity, ESR and CRP, ESR, CRP and serum IgA were measured 41 patients who fulfilled the New York criteriae for AS and 20 controls. The results of our study has shown that IgA levels are specifically raised in AS. In addition we concluded that serum IgA levels in clinically active AS patients were correlate with ESR and CRP. Suggesting that they may have a role in the measurement of disease activity.
