Fizik Tedavi Uygulanan Gonartroz Hastalarında Asemetasin Eklenmesinin Etkinliğini Araştıran Çift Kör, Plasebo Kontrollü Çalışma

Gonarthrosis who are Receiving Physical Therapy; a Placebo Controlled, Double-Blind Trial. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of adding a non-steroidal antiinflamatory drug, acemetacin to patients with gonarthrosis who are receiving physical therapy, on patients’ pain, physical and laboratory findings and record the side effects of the drug. 32 patients with gonarthrosis were included in this study. Among the physical the-rapy modalities hot-pack, ultrasound and transcutaneal electrical nerve stimulation were applied to all patients. The patients were randomly divided into two groups. The first group were given 120mg of acemetacin daily while the second group recieved placebo capsules of acemetacin twice a day. The two groups were followed for 21 days for the parameters of pain at rest, pain with movement, pain with pressure, limitation in range of motion, joint circumference, the evaluation of treatment efficacy by both patient and physician, side effects and laboratory tests. The results of the two groups were compared. As a result, on the 7th day there was a significant improvement in pain at rest and pain with movement in only the acemetacin group. There was no significant difference in any of the other parameters between the two groups.
